Hope you had a great weekend! Are you all ready for Halloween? I think we are: costumes are bought, decorations are up, and pumpkins are carved. :)
I was excited last week to get my copy of the PaperCrafts Nov/Dec issue:
For two reasons, one it's full of amazing projects & two I was so excited to be in the "Designer's Spotlight" for this issue. There's a little question & answer section, very fun! :)
Now for the rest of the Halloween projects I have to share. :) Here's a little wall hanging I did using Dream Street "Superstition" line:
A wreath I made using Bo Bunny "Boo Crew" papers (directions are on the Bo Bunny blog):
More "Boo Crew" goodies. Bo Bunny had a 2 page sketch challenge & instead of a layout I used page 1 for the card and page 2 for the box. My son & I had a blast making monster cupcakes as well. :)
And the dirctions for the pumpkin centerpiece. I posted it on the Dream Street blog, but thought I'd do it here as well. :
Start with a paper mache pumpkin (available at most craft stores).
1. Begin cutting strips of coordinating pattern paper about 1" wider & longer than each curve. Cut enough alternating patterns to cover the entire pumpkin.
2. Apply a generous amount of decoupage medium to one section and one strip of paper. Smooth piece to curve and repeat for each section until pumpkin is covered. Let dry.
3. Once dry run brown ink pad along edges and curves for a distressed look. Using foam brush lightly brush decoupage onto various areas and sprinkle with black glitter (I used Martha Stewart), let dry.
4. Cut leaf shape from green paper, fold in center and ink. Cut two strips of green paper and curl around pencil for "tendrils".
5. Die cut leaves from copper sheeting using Sizzix, emboss veining using pencil, and use lighter to give copper rainbow look.
6. Using copper wire begin curling around pencil adding beads between curls.
7. Take twine and wrap around each section of pumpkin. Add rub-on to chipboard and tie to end of twine.
8. Assemble leaves, tendrils, copper beaded tendrils ect.. to top using hot glue.
And I quickly did a card for 2sketches4you, flipped things a bit. ;)
Thanks for stopping by! :)
